Mondays 15 minute flowers. This took a little longer but whatevs. Then once you look at the arrangement through a camera it takes a different shape. What I thought was a hole was actually needed space to let the flowers breathe. Every arrangement I learn something new.

I'm calling this 15 minute flowers. I'm going to try and get in the habit of putting together a quick arrangement weekly. This is my first. Whatever I have left from my Monday harvest different vessels, different sizes and shapes. The good the bad and the ugly. We'll see how this goes.

I don't grow many flowers that aren't for cutting. This little cutie is only for my joy. Collinsia heterophylla aka Purple Chinese Houses is one of my favorites. This little CA Native is one of the first to bloom and we love hunting for them on early spring hikes.

Salvia mellifera - CA Native Black Sage. The sage I use in my arrangements are cut from plants that have so much meaning to me. When I started my plant chapter at DVC Horticulture we went on a few hikes and took some cuttings and propagated them. These are those plants. I'm so happy to be able to share them with others now.

Whew! The babes made it through their first night outside. Yes, spring just started but we are already thinking about summer blooms. Farming certainly doesn't happen overnight. This venture does come with so much planning ahead but then you harvest and are bright right back into the moment.
